Berlin-based studio IAAI relies on spontaneity and play to craft its idiosyncratic handmade objects for the home. Embracing an intuition-led creative process, Georgian designer Ia Kutateladze channels her lived experience and inspirations from natural and urban landscapes into adventurous arrangements of geometric homeware with a biologic surrealist feel. The label’s vessels, vases, lamps, and mirrors arrive in dreamlike reconfigurations of familiar shapes, juxtaposing subtle, intricate textures with eccentric details like protruding orbs and coils or vivid gem-colored glazes. Like a little glimpse into the collective unconscious, the sophisticated and otherworldly goods by IAAI bring an organically original atmosphere to any contemporary home.
